Blackout, Thrinacie Sky, Trip Hazard, Tinitus.
Lev 2 Esquires Bedford. Saturday 10th September 2005.
For a third consecutive night full on metal dominated proceedings!
Opening were TINITUS who continue to make steady progress and are certainly becoming more stage aware.
TRIP HAZARD continued the evening with a heavy set comprising such weird and wonderful titles as 'Paraplegic Rat', 'Nullo Freak Bitch' and 'Choleric'! Beware this Trip Hazard - you will never know how and where you will end up!!!
Following on were a new band to me - THRINACIE SKY. Trying to glean some information about them I asked a few fans pre-gig what their opinion of them was. There responses were;
Fraz - "They're sick!"
Paul - "F**king great!"
George - "Their drummer is a beast!"
With this in mind, I looked forward to see Thrinacie Sky with a mix of intrigue and optimism. Comprising Chris (drums), Tom (guitar), Matt (guitar), Michael (vocals) and Alex (bass) they have been together six months with only a few school gigs to their name. Tonight was very much a step up to the next level, but they handled themselves with total proficiency and although a few nervous mistakes crept into their set, the songs 'Nose Bleed' and 'Lost for Words' made an impression.
BLACKOUT ended the gig tonight with, as always, a first class performance. As far as the local scene is concerned we have been enriched by some great young bands this year and Blackout have without doubt been one of the standouts. The songs 'Faith' and 'Seven' fly out of the vocalists mouth in a manner akin to a spitting Cobra!
