Day of Wreckoning IV - Scar My Eyes, The Tendons, Drug Leader Cheer Leader, Hudson.

Lev 2 Esquires Bedford. 1st May 2005.

The annual all day music festival came for the first time to the home of live music, Bedford Esquires. The event promised eight hours of live music featuring eight different bands but unfortunately it was not well attended, which is a real shame for the organisers and the bands that played.

Those punters who did attend were treated to a fine day of music. I caught the last few songs performed by SCAR MY EYES, who looked and sounded very impressive in a rock / metal style and featured a charismatic lead singer.

The next band on needed no introduction to any familiar with the Bedford music scene, and this afternoon THE TENDONS were on top form. All their 'classics' were aired, 'Tendons', 'Trendy Wanker', 'Famine' etc and John's inter-song banter was superb. DJ Steve was invited on stage and his version of 'Roger' was brilliant. For me, the hour of The Tendons was worth the entrance fee alone!

'DRUG DEALER CHEERLEADER' were charged with the unenviable task of following The Tendons, but to their credit they were very good - a mix of 70's Glam Rock, The Stooges and The Stones. Very enjoyable.

All the way from Stoke, the punk influenced 'HUDSON' were next, followed by two fairly metal acts 'The More' and 'Head Hung Low'.

All in all the day was a great concept, but the attendance was very disappointing. Live music fans of Bedford, where were you?
