Newborn Nemesis/Kaotica/Dead Funny .

Lev 2 Esquires Bedford. 26th Febuary 2005.

First on are 'Newborn Nemesis' who were originally called 'Cerberus' and who played Esquires in December. Again they delivered an awesome set, indicative of a band that has shared a stage with such names as 'Mastodon', 'Exodus', 'Testament', 'Death Angel' and 'Entombed' in the past few months.
Newborn Nemesis have now finished a 7 track mini-album called 'Searching for Sanity' which featured a track on a cover CD with the December edition of Terrorizers and gained some respectable reviews in the music press. The Esquires faithful were certainly not disappointed by their set on Saturday - come back soon!

Next on stage were 'Kaotica' who are veterans of the metal world and feature renowned comic artist Simon Bisley on drums. The packed Esquires crowd were held in awe as Kaotica went through a loud and electrifying set.

Last band of the night were 'Dead Funny', who are better known by their previous name of 'Moolie'. After realising the name Moolie could be considered offensive to an American Italian audience and currently in the process of negotiating gigs in the USA they felt a name change was appropriate.
Dead Funny play what I can only describe as a hybrid of Funk, Punk, Jazz and Samba Metal and, given that they have not played Esquires for a while, the whole set took on the air of a celebration. A touching moment occurred when guitarist Junior dedicated their set, and the whole evening, to Keith Lawson - a moving tribute and a fitting end to a top evening.
