Before those we had SLAVE TO NATURE giving one of their best performances and deserve a headlining slot next time, with a new band member fitting in well. Singing wasn't perfect, but evidently much improved from their previous member, although I miss his acrobatical guitar handling. The great tunes and skilful play have not been lost though, they got the best crowd reaction of the night and some moshing ensued.
After a few name changes and an expectancy for them to change the bands name half way through their set BLACK REVERANCE took to the stage for the first time although a few of their members have graced the stage before in previous bands.
These had a deliciously dark sound, intense vocals well executed, forming at times sounds that make you wonder where they are coming from. They are a band to get in to and appreciate, I would like to see more of these, dark heavy and atmospherical, just more work on the bands look and image but fantastic for a first gig.
The openers of the night and keeping it in the family, SENDURI sometimes referred to as 'Mini Bujj' (pronounced boodge) having the younger brother of Matt Bujok from Attika in the band bedecked with a pink fluffy guitar strap and a band member looking remarkably like Shaggy from Scooby Doo, but turned in a great performance. The drumming seemed to look really well practiced and I know, takes the opportunity to play the jam sessions in Luton when he can. The lead singer also quite practiced at the jam sessions added to the look of being well suited to the stage and doesn't look as if he is straining to hard to sing, in a grungy style, sounding perfectly usual with out having to put too much effort in sounding so natural and good. They ended in style similar to gigs Iv seen him do in the bands Luton home town - ending the set with a brutal assault on the guitar and rolling on the floor in a kurt cobain dying animal style that prove even more just how at home they look on stage and how well they use it as if they gig every night.
