Welcoming Bedford Alternative Music to the 21st Century. Imicus gives our first ever downloadable review. Usually avoiding and preferring to have the hard copy actual C.D. in your hand and not bothering with downloads to review Imicus has changed our minds, not being a band new to this sites review section.

The download gives you the two songs on the single along with the lyrics to both songs and artwork for the sleeve featuring a mermaid looking girl caught up like a string puppet.

The first track THE MARIONETTE shows that Imicus is a band whose vocals never fail to impress always on top form, holding the notes and sounding epic and large. Not heard much from Imicus lately and their latest single show they havent lost their strengths.
Almost whispering vocals opens the title track briefly before harmonising in to action, bringing a build up of the more anger fused lyrics at full industrial screamo strength. Apart from the excess padded drumming sounding over worked throughout and the abrupt surprisingly quick finish to the song being the only drawback to a track which was sounding and going well enough for me to be wanting more before its finish. They certainly have their own sound which hones in well on these tracks.

The drumming accompanying CHAMELEONS is damn right heavy utilizing incendiary pounding to good effect and the length of time and experience of the guitarists while playing is ever prevalent also. Im guessing the song is about loyalty and showing what you represent when its right to do so and cowardly hiding away until that time, all sung clean cut and powerfully with the strength and passion you expect from Imicus.

All in all a neat professional package.
