With an epic intro stirring a classic opening to their set, that would have fared better at a bigger livelier venue POINT OF EXTINCTION opened with a piece of film score before launching in to their recommended sound of excellent guitar work not just that up down boring strumming you get with most indie bands, this was guitar skill at a high level and a case of a metal band playing proper metal and doing it well. In addition to the intricate string picking there were added sliding effects making me wonder where the sound was coming from, before noticing the use of the effects pedal put to effective use.
The bass also stood out as moody and darkly atmospheric, but one of the elements that grabbed my interest was the diversity of the vocals from their moorhen style headed singer. The style didnt seem to samey from one song to the next, which would have been dull, but different styles and ranges were used making a refreshing but not too clashingly different variety of styles (apart from the Rage Against, nu-metal, almost rap like track which wasnt exactly my favourite). A band with a definite interest to their sound, just a shame a more larger, attentive and deserved audience couldnt have been attracted or generated for the really cool people in this band.

With the Bedford band pulled out at short notice the usual fun atmosphere wasnt up to the usual standard, the humidity and rain didnt help ether, making it quite hot to perform but our troopers strived well nonetheless. Strange also to see a constant pacing of the yellow bibbed brigade of bouncers for the school social next door to be constantly pacing in and out, up and down like a pair of windscreen wipers throughout.

What a load of faffers, late on arrival with the drum kit, although quick to set up; strings that needed rethreading, not quite as professional as the previous band. I hope they better conduct at places bigger than a midweek pub type venue? When OUR DIVIDE (a fusion of members from other bands in the Luton area) got it together though . Wow! The whole delivery of their set once it comes together is unswervingly professional. The whole overall sound is appreciatively good to listen to. Having two vocalists add a dimension, reminding me of the much missed band SiKth (and others similar). No their style isnt new or different or epoch shatteringly the next best sound on the block, but you have to admit do what they do extremely well, so good also to see a band obviously enjoying them selves while playing and you couldnt fail to be entertained by the sheer live experience they offer!
They engaged with the onlookers and put on a spectacle of movement, sound and integral performance.
