Feedback Aftermath.

Openers for the Nirvana Tribute gig Lev 2 Esquires Bedford. Saturday 10th October 2015.

Here making a most welcome reappearance on the Esquires mainstage, are Northampton’s FEEDBACK AFTERMATH , Tonight, they are supporting a Nirvana tribute band and so consequently the trio are performing in front of their largest Bedford crowd to date. The band are Oliver Duffy guitar and lead vocals, Reuben Waring bass, vocals and Tom Stoker drums. I first encountered Feedback Aftermath at last years Oxjam event and immediately they sonically blew me away! They were one of the undoubted highlights of the whole day! I have kept an eye on their steady and continuing progress, especially when they have played here at Esquires. However their June gig at MK’s Crawford Arms was an interesting experience for this reviewer, Feedback Aftermath were booked as support to a band called Loom, (a rock band who include Tarik & Harry Badwan, brothers of Faris Of The Horrors) but unbeknown to virtually everybody, Loom delivered a very late cancellation! The seventy pounds return taxi fare from Bedford to Wolverton was especially softened by a blistering Feedback Aftermath set. Everytime I watch this band I’m always struck by their dynamic stage presence. Most of the early arrivals tonight obviously haven’t seen these Northampton lads before and Oliver senses they’ve got to quickly win them over. His initial greeting is cheery and informative, as he announces that “Today is world Patti Smith day, just thought I’d let you know that!” Considering this bands very young age bracket, they always exude confidence. Once again they demonstrate to me that they can handle a gig without any noticeable nerves. The highlight of the set arrives when they perform Age Old End. This together with The Machine is the bands current downloadable double A sided single. Oliver declares that the playing of this song is when “Shit gets Fxxxing mental” this is musical nihilism in super charged overdrive.

The clarity of sound in the room is superb and the volume reverberates brutally, our ears get a damn good pummelling. The bands velocity reaches a peak with The Wake Up. Feedback Aftermath joyously milk every second of this song. The band very politely thank everyone at the close and mention that they’ve had a great time. If for whatever reason you’ve never had the pleasure of witnessing this power packed trio live, then may I urge you quickly, just hunt them down and most importantly please lend them your ears. You most certainly will not regret it.
